Charter Overview
If you have fishing in Fairfield on your bucket list, look no further than Apex Angling CT. Captain Ben, with his extensive experience in these waters, is ready to provide you with an unforgettable fishing adventure.
Fishing in this area typically involves targeting Striped Bass, Bluefish, Little Tunny, Bonito, and more. During your trip, you may engage in spinning, popping, or other specialized fishing techniques specific to this region. Captain Ben also offers fly fishing and will provide the necessary gear. Rest assured, rods, reels, and lures are included, and you may be able to keep some of the fish you catch, depending on regulations.
Your vessel for the day is a 20’ Center console, with a capacity for 2 passengers. In certain weather conditions and circumstances, the captain may permit additional passengers. Expect a phone call the day prior to your trip to discuss the fishing plan, weather, time, and meeting location. The majority of your time on the water will be spent casting lures or flies, with occasional breaks for travel or scouting for fish. Children are welcome onboard.
April through July are prime months for targeting Striped Bass and Bluefish. In August and early September, Capt. Ben occasionally takes his boat out east to pursue migratory fish before returning to Western Long Island Sound for the Fall. Mid-September to mid-November are prime months for False Albacore, Striped Bass, Bluefish, and occasionally Atlantic Bonito.
Remember to bring polarized sunglasses, an outer layer or jacket, appropriate non-marking shoes or boots, as well as any drinks or food that can be stored in the cooler. Captain Ben will have a few drinks in the cooler to keep you hydrated. Don't forget to purchase a local fishing license before the trip.
