Charter Overview
I have a strong affinity for fly fishing and river exploration, which stems from my childhood spent along the banks of the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers in Eugene, OR. As a seasoned guide, I have honed my skills and passion for outdoor adventures through various roles, including instructing sea kayaking in the San Juan Islands, serving as a Professional Ski Patroller in Utah, and working as an 'Overseas Educator' in Latin America. I am eager to share my extensive knowledge of local waters and my love for fly fishing while catering to your specific goals. With certifications in Swift Water Rescue and Wilderness First Responder, I prioritize safety alongside providing exceptional and professional riverside experiences.
Each trip is custom-tailored to meet your desires and objectives. I take immense pleasure in sharing my expertise and enthusiasm while helping guests catch fish. Put simply, I adore my job.
Homewaters: Upper McKenzie River Nestled in the heart of Oregon, the upper McKenzie River is a true gem with its clear waters, stunning scenery, and exceptional trout fly fishing. This section of the river boasts a thriving population of both hatchery and wild trout, ranging from 10 to 18 inches, and occasionally even larger native red sides measuring up to 20 inches.
The upper McKenzie offers a diverse range of water, varying from spacious pools and rapid currents to peaceful tail-outs. Each stretch of the river requires specific techniques and methods adapted to the prevailing conditions. Whether it's dry fly fishing or nymphing, we will target these exquisite fish using the most effective approach for optimal success.
My raft is designed to accommodate two anglers simultaneously, with a protective frame to ensure safety and comfortable, swiveling chairs.
