Charter Overview
Super Fly Charters offers professional and friendly guided fishing trips in the Kennebec watershed area. Captain John Coppola specializes in striped bass fishing along the rocky coast and expansive Kennebec River. With its pristine mud and sand flats, this location is a paradise for flats fishermen.
Join Captain John on his 21’ Parker center console boat, the "Super Fly," which can accommodate up to 5 guests. You can have 2-3 rods for regular casting and 1-2 people can fly fish at a time. The boat is equipped with 2 fishfinders, GPS chart plotters, VHF radios, a cell phone, and all necessary safety equipment required by the US Coast Guard.
Captain John utilizes various fishing techniques, including fly fishing, live baiting, casting popping plugs, soft plastics, metal jigs with spinning rods, and specialized "butterfly" jigging. He provides all the necessary tackle for your trip.
Come and join Super Fly Charters for an opportunity to catch the fish of a lifetime. Captain John can customize each trip to your needs and skill level. Due to their popularity, it is recommended to book your spot in advance.
Policies: Catch and release is strongly encouraged, and if you wish to keep fish, Captain John requests that you only keep one Striper per trip to support the recovering fishery. For Cod, there is a limit of 1 per person measuring 22" or larger between September 1st and October 7th. The cod fishery is closely regulated and showing signs of recovery. Fly fishermen are advised to bring their own 7-9 wt rods with floating and sinking lines. If you need to borrow a fly setup, please inform the captain the night before the trip.
