I know this is far after the fact, but when I have any problem with tears, leaks, rips or cracks I use E-6000 glue for the repair.I use it on everything.... Work boots and even on patches for my husband's work jeans. It holds up in the wash, dryer and even winter weather when I use it on outside repairs.

Physically measured the interior. The measurements for the very bottom of the interior of the hardshell are 13" x just a little bit over 8" (8 1/4” to the convex edge of the hardshell curve, a little more for the concave portion). My 8x6 glass lunch container was able to fit with the longest portion of the container across the shortest (depth portion) of the bottom of the inner shell. This lunch bag was much bigger than I expected based upon some other people's comments, and I have to return it to get the next size down.
