Is this waterproof safety? As far as I know, the only part that is "WATERPROOF" is the sonar head. The readout case may be water-resistant, but there is no guarantee to that statement. I really do not understand the "SAFETY" aspect of your inquiry, but short of hitting someone with either part ---- it is DC voltage (no chance of a shock) and quite safe.
