Lifetime Manta Tandem Kayak

Lifetime Manta Tandem Kayak

Description

The Lifetime Manta Tandem Sit on Top Kayak with Back Rests is a versatile and durable kayak that offers a range of features for a fantastic paddling experience. It can be used for both solo and tandem paddling, allowing you to enjoy your kayak adventures alone or with a partner. With a 500 lb. capacity, it can easily accommodate two paddlers and their gear.

One of the standout features of this kayak is its self-bailing scupper holes, which efficiently drain any water that enters the cockpit area. This ensures that you stay dry and comfortable during your kayaking trips, even in rough conditions. The molded front carry handle makes it easy to transport the kayak, and its 10-foot compact length allows for effortless storage.

Designed to provide ultra stability and excellent tracking, the hull of the Lifetime Manta Tandem Sit on Top Kayak ensures a smooth and enjoyable paddling experience. Made from UV-protected linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) using rotational molded construction, this kayak is built to last and withstand the elements.

For added comfort, the kayak features multiple footrest positions to accommodate paddlers of different sizes. This allows you to find the perfect fit and maintain a comfortable paddling position throughout your journey. Additionally, the kayak is equipped with ditty trays and shock cord straps to secure loose items, ensuring that your belongings stay safe and secure.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions:

If using this solo, do you sit in the aft or middle seat? The seatback supports, as shown in the pic, clip onto the gunwales, so both could be removed and then one re-clipped to align with the middle seat (actually between the positions of the two in the pic) for a larger person. This is also my preferred position for paddling with a small child passenger in front of me between my legs. The forward seat could be used solo by a lighter person/teen.

Is it easy to use solo? Yes! I'm 52 but able to "man handle" the kayak in and out of the water. It is also easy to paddle alone. It's a very stable and sturdy kayak...it won't flip over easily...so it's pretty decent as a solo kayak. I AM just a beginning kayaker, though...not sure what a more seasoned kayaker would say about it.

I am somewhat tall - 5'11" - will I be comfortable in the back with my kid in the front? Absolutely! I run a paddle craft rental business and own 3. I use this craft daily. I have used this with all-sized people without an issue. I use it regularly for 2 adults or an adult and 2 kids without an issue. It just won't comfortably fit 3 full-sized adults.

Can it go in the ocean? Yes! This kayak is very stable! We use it in the Gulf of Mexico! I probably would not use it in 6-foot seas, though.
