If you have a 12' by 41" wide kayak, the 8' distance between mounts is specifically for the Barracuda Frame. Unfortunately, it is not possible to mount both behind the seat to add front space.

If you have a Perception Joyride 10.0 kayak, the canopy will be just enough to cover one seat. It has "s" hooks on the straps that can be connected to a hole or rope handles on the kayak.
