AQUA BOUND Manta Ray Carbon Kayak Paddle

Description

AQUA BOUND Manta Ray Carbon 2-Piece Kayak Paddle

The AQUA BOUND Manta Ray Carbon 2-Piece Kayak Paddle is proudly MADE IN OSCEOLA, WISCONSIN, USA. Just like all Aqua-Bound paddles, this paddle is hand-built in Wisconsin by a team of passionate paddling enthusiasts.

The Manta Ray paddle features a convenient 2 PIECE CONSTRUCTION, allowing it to break into two pieces with a Posi-Lok ferrule. This makes it easy to transport and store, whether you're going on a road trip or simply stowing it away at home.

One of the standout features of the Manta Ray paddle is its Carbon abX resin blades. These blades are not only lightweight but also incredibly stiff and strong. They are even more durable than glass reinforced blades, ensuring longevity and reliability on your kayaking adventures.

The paddle's ovalized shaft provides a comfortable grip, allowing you to paddle for extended periods without discomfort. This ergonomic design ensures that your hands stay comfortable and fatigue-free, even during long paddling sessions.

Additionally, the Manta Ray paddle comes with drip rings included. These drip rings help prevent water from dripping down the shaft and onto your hands, keeping you dry and improving your overall grip on the paddle.

FAQs:

Q: Is it carbon or fiberglass?

A: Mine is Carbon Fiber. It is pretty light for a big paddle. When I bought my kayak, it came with an aluminum and fiberglass paddle. The Manta Ray is substantially lighter.

Q: Are the blades removable from the end of the shaft?

A: The blades are not removable. However, the paddle separates in the center and can be adjusted for blade angles ranging from 0 to 60 degrees plus or minus. The locking system is excellent.

Q: Based on the source, I'm seeing different recommended lengths of paddles based on the kayak and height. Is it better to go longer or shorter?

A: A two-piece paddle like the Manta Ray can be cut shorter. I'm 5'7" and bought a 220cm paddle from Walmart for use in my 28" wide sit-in kayak. After some use, I cut off 5cm, making it 215cm, and it appears to be just right for me. If 220cm had been too long, I could have saved it for a spare and tried a longer one for suitability. Now that I know what works for me, I can consider spending a larger amount of money for a premium paddle.

Q: What's the real weight of the paddle?

A: The Manta Ray Carbon model weighs 29.5oz (836g) in a 220cm length. Due to the paddle shaft weight, you'll need to add 0.5oz (15g) for every 10cm increment of a longer paddle length.
