No, can be used as many times as you want. if used and you used the self inflater, that is a small CO2 cartridge. You also have a straw inside the jacket thats connected to the bladder as the CO2 is. I use my straw to fill the bladder in mine so I dont use the CO2 only in an emergency where Im unable to blow up the bladder. its easy to blow up bladder, you can pull string at bottom of vest or get kit to make it automaticwhen you hit the water it sets of the small CO2 cartridge right now, incase your knocked out. I blow mine up before entering water stays blown up all day, wear under my fishing vest not bulky at all, make sure you get your size that fits you.

In the event of an emergency, there are two (2) ways to inflate this life saving devise. If and when the time comes for you to abandon whatever vessel you are on, the Eyson Inflatable comes with 0ne (1) a pull string that is attached to a CO2 cannister that contains air. Once the string is pulled, the life vest immediately inflates. two (2), In the event this method fails, there is a hose attached near your mouth that will allow you to inflate the devise by simply blowing air into the devise until it become inflated. When you feel that the devise has enough air and your head is above the water line, secure the hose by simply tighting the valve to allow no air to escape. Always check your equipment before going our to make sure your devise is in working condition.
