Is the flap drive designed so that the flaps fold up if they hit an obstruction or are they prone to breaking? The flaps can be feathered (pushed against the hull) when going over shallow objects or beaching the kayak by pushing one pedal forward. We provide spare fins which are easy to replace with each kayak sold and sell spares on our website. The flaps however do not fold up when hitting an obstruction.

Can you mount a power pole on this kayak? Yes, the area with the most space would be on the transom near the rudder.

Does the island Hopper trolling system designed for the mirage drive platform work in this kayak? What we understand from our customers is that there is compatibility between the V1 Mirage drive and our kayak. There is no detail on the Island Hopper website in respect of dimensions for the drive locking system for us to give you a definitive response. If you can provide some dimensions we'd be happy to check this further for you.
