How does this handle at sea when the water gets a little rough?

My wife and I have been on the Hudson river when it gets a bit rough the the Kayaks handle fine

It says they come with large imperfections. What does that exactly mean

Mine arrived without imperfections, however it is not shipped in a box, just loose plastic so I imagine it is prone to being scratched/scuffed during shipping. The keel is also a separate piece that would be fairly easy to crack off the kayak during shipping.
