Poseidon Paddle - Aluminum Shaft

Poseidon Paddle - Aluminum Shaft

Description

The Poseidon Paddle - Aluminum Shaft is a high-quality kayak paddle designed for low angle paddlers who enjoy admiring the scenery while on the water. It features a two-piece aluminum construction that is both sturdy and lightweight, making it easy to store and transport.

The paddle is equipped with an impact-resistant fiberglass reinforced polypropylene feathered blade design, ensuring great durability and efficient paddling. The angle of the blade can be adjusted between 0° and 65°, providing a comfortable paddling experience and reducing shoulder and upper back fatigue.

One of the standout features of the Poseidon Paddle is the adjustable drip rings. These rings help keep your hands dry for a better grip, ensuring that water does not run down the shaft and affect your paddling. However, it's worth noting that some users have reported that the drip rings on the 2020 version are not as effective as those on the 2019 version.

The paddle also features an enforced push-button connection with 0 or 65˚ angle adjustment, allowing for easy customization to suit your paddling style. Additionally, the shaft of the paddle has a unique ovalization design, transitioning from a rounded shape to a slightly oval shape. This serves as a reference for proper hand placement, enhancing your grip and control.

Measuring 89 inches (226cm) in length, the Poseidon Paddle is the perfect fit for your trips on the water. It is neither too short nor too long, providing optimal performance and maneuverability. This recreational kayak paddle offers a comfortable and efficient paddling experience, making it the ideal choice for enthusiasts.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions about the Poseidon Paddle - Aluminum Shaft:

Q: What is the difference between this and the older Pelican Poseidon paddle found on Amazon?

A: It seems the drip rings on the 2020 version are not as good as the 2019 version. The 2019 paddle's drip rings hold in place on the shaft, but the 2020 paddle's drip rings tend to slide all over the place, usually down to the blade. This makes them ineffective at preventing water from running down the shaft to your hands. Another difference is the shaft coating. The 2020 paddle has a nice, almost rubbery-feeling coating that makes it very comfortable and easy to grip, while the older version is just painted aluminum. Additionally, the 2020 paddle has a two-piece disconnect design without any fixed joints, which can be more comfortable compared to the multiple aluminum tubes joined together in the older version.

Q: How long (in inches) is the paddle?

A: When the paddle is put together, it measures approximately 90 inches in length from end to end. The blades alone measure about 18 inches. Many users have found the length to be suitable for their needs, and the notch in the blades encourages water to drip off rather than rolling back onto the shaft.

Q: How long does it take to get this paddle after the order is placed?

A: Most customers receive their paddle within two or three days after placing the order, ensuring a timely delivery and allowing you to hit the water as soon as possible.

Q: Does this paddle float?

A: The Poseidon Paddle does float for a few seconds, giving you enough time to reach for it if it falls in the water. However, it is not intended to be left unattended on the water as it will sink.

Frequently Asked Questions

what is the difference between this and the older pelican poseidon paddle found on amazon?

It seems the drip rings on the 2020 version are not as good as the 2019 version. My 2019 drip rings hold in place on the shaft, but my wife's 2020 paddle drip rings slide all over the place (usually down to the blade), and so are ineffective at stopping water from running down the shaft to her hands. I did notice another difference between my wife's 2020 Poseidon paddle and mine. Her 2020 has a nice, almost rubbery-feeling coating on the shaft that makes the shaft feel very comfortable and easy to grip. Mine does not, and is basically just painted aluminum. Mine also has what appears to be a shaft made of multiple aluminum tubes joined together - not just the actual 2-piece joint, but a fixed joint nearer to my hands. My hands often slide to this joint, which has a bit of a sharp edge where one tube is inserted into the other. My wife's 2020 Poseidon has no such joints, only the 2-piece disconnect. FWIW, we'd been using a Carlisle Daytripper before getting the Poseidons, and the Daytripper now stays on shore. Huge upgrade and so quiet in the water. Love these paddles, but wish we could have the old drip rings on the new paddle.

How long (in inches) is the paddle?

When paddle is put together it measures ~90" in length, end to end. The blades measure about 18". I just tried this paddle out for the first time on Sunday, it's lightweight, easy to use, and the notch in the blades really does encourage water to drip down off blade, and not roll back on the shaft so much.

Does this paddle float?

For a few seconds, it gives you enough time to reach for it if it falls in the water but it is not to be left unattended on the water as it will sink.
