Seattle Sports Cable Lock - Secure Kayaks & More

Description

I recently purchased the Seattle Sports Cradle Cable Lock for Kayaks, Canoes, Paddle Boards, and Surfboards, and I must say, I am impressed with its performance.

One of the standout features of this cradle lock is its versatility. It can be used to secure a wide range of watercraft, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and surfboards, up to 18 feet in length.

When it comes to security, this lock does not disappoint. It is compatible with cradles, roof racks, wall mounts, or any solid anchor point, ensuring that your boat remains safe and secure wherever you choose to store it.

The quality of this kayak cradle lock is top-notch. The 6mm galvanized steel cable is vinyl sheathed, which not only protects it from corrosion but also prevents scratches to your craft and vehicle.

One of the main reasons I chose this cradle lock is for the peace of mind it provides. It serves as a great theft deterrent, giving me confidence that my valuable watercraft is protected from the common thief.

When it comes to specifications, this lock features a 6mm diameter (1/4") cable that is 20 feet long, providing ample length to secure your boat in various scenarios.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions:

- Will it rust in salty air? I leave my kayak on a rack next to the water.

I'm not sure, but it does have a pretty good coating of paint on it, so I don't think it would. The only part that I would be worried about rusting would be the bolts used to attach it to the wall. The best bet would be to get some marine type bolts for installing it.

- Will this lock 2 kayaks or just 1?

I have a 12-foot kayak, and I found that I had a lot of extra cable that I needed to wrap around my racks to prevent banging in the wind. So, I think it would fit 2 kayaks if they were close to each other.

- Can I use this on a 15 ft canoe?

I have a 12ft kayak that I use this lock on, and I don't think you would have a problem using it on a canoe that long.

- Has anyone used this to lock a 10-foot kayak to a roof rack?

Yes, and it's the perfect length to wrap around the J bars and roof rails as well. We used it to loop the nose and end for extra security in case you break fast to prevent the kayak from slipping forwards or backward.
