Tannic Water Adventures is owned and operated by Captain Austin Nikkola, a Jacksonville native with over 40 years of experience fishing the St. Johns River. The river is an ancient intercoastal lagoon system known for its tea-colored water caused by decaying plant material. We specialize in light tackle inshore fishing trips in the St. Johns River and its tributaries, offering a captivating experience amidst its lush green and gold grass surroundings.
As a member of the Maritime Drug Testing Consortium, Tannic Water Adventures is committed to maintaining a drug-free environment. We pride ourselves on providing family-friendly adventures focused on fishing for Redfish, Trout, and Flounder. We can tailor our trips to meet your specific needs within reason.
When you choose Tannic Water Adventures, you can trust that you will be guided by Captain Austin, a USCG certified captain with extensive knowledge of the St. Johns River. Our vessel, the 24' Lake And Bay boat, is designed for comfort and style, built to navigate both the rough bay and nearshore waters of the St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean. Powered by a reliable Yamaha engine, it offers a stable platform for fishing or enjoying a day on the water with your loved ones, with a shallow draft of only 13 inches.
