The Camalot C4 Package #4-6 by Black Diamond is a set that includes the three widest cams from their latest generation of the Camalot C4.
While there are newer versions like the Ultralight and Offset Camalots, Black Diamond has chosen to enhance the original C4 that has been trusted for over a decade. The new Camalot C4 is not only 10% lighter than its predecessor, but it also maintains the strength that the Ultralights sacrificed. The shape, camming angle, and placement ranges remain the same, as Black Diamond believes in the principle of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it." The focus was on reducing weight without compromising strength.
This new generation of the Camalot C4 is not only lighter but also more convenient than any other cam Black Diamond has produced. Larger cams now have stiffer stems, while smaller cams have more flexible stems, providing consistent flex across the range. The larger cams also feature unique trigger keepers that securely lock them in a camming position, minimizing racking volume. These keepers can be easily detached with a simple pull of the trigger while climbing. Cams with the same color, such as 5 and .5, now come with bi-color slings for effortless identification. The tags on the slings are neatly tucked underneath the shorter bar-tacks for a cleaner aesthetic. In addition, Black Diamond has redesigned the tread pattern for a fresh look that celebrates this new generation of Camalots.
