Old Town AutoPilot 136 Fishing Kayak

Description

The Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 136 Motorized Fishing Kayak is equipped with a saltwater-ready, GPS-enabled Minn Kota trolling motor. With the Bluetooth-connected i-Pilot remote, you can easily propel and maneuver the kayak using just your thumb. Please note that the motor requires a lead acid or lithium ion battery (not included).

This high-end fishing kayak allows you to reach your favorite fishing spot quickly and effortlessly. Minn Kota's Spot-Lock technology helps keep you "anchored" in position on the water, allowing you to cast, change lures, and reel in big fish with ease.

The motor (12-volt, 45-pound thrust) combined with foot brace steering ensures exceptional maneuverability. The extra-large rudder provides excellent boat control in both forward and reverse. Deploying and stowing the motor is made easy with lift assist, which is especially useful in shallow waters or during launch and landing.

Convenience features abound in the Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 136. It includes customizable accessory tracks, cushioned floor pads for improved comfort and grip, a custom tackle box, and plenty of rod holders. The two forward-facing and two rear-facing flush mounted rod holders are easily accessible when needed and out of the way when not in use.

Mounting a fish finder is a breeze with the included three through-hull wiring kits and universal transducer mount. You can have a fish finder set up within minutes without any need to drill into the kayak.

For all-day comfort, the premium dual-layer Textilene mesh seat can be removed for transport. It keeps you cool and comfortable even during long hours on the water. The adjustable foot braces provide ideal maneuverability in steering, while the extra-large rudder ensures excellent boat control.

With a maximum capacity of 660 pounds, the Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 136 has ample space for people and gear. The kayak itself weighs 158 pounds, and the removable motor console weighs 24 pounds. Please note that the paddle is sold separately.

The hull of the kayak is backed by a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty, and the Minn Kota motor is covered by a 2-year warranty. Old Town, as the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of canoes and kayaks, ensures the quality and reliability of their products.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is this kayak good for saltwater?

A: Yes. It's saltwater ready.

Q: Can you take the motor out and use the boat for fishing in waters that don't allow motors?

A: Yes, the motor can be removed. There is a conveniently located cover to close the motor slot.

Q: How long does the battery last to power the motor? And how long does it take to recharge the battery?

A: I have been out for over four hours of continuous trolling at about 75% power. I purchased a gel lead acid battery that takes a long time to recharge. I'm unsure of the exact time since I leave it charging overnight for the next day. If you invest in a lithium-ion battery, it will charge in a quarter of the time and maintain its power, lasting four times longer. The lithium-ion battery is also significantly lighter, weighing approximately 75% less. A 100 AH lead acid battery is quite heavy at around forty pounds, so I have to charge it in the boat.

Q: What's a good battery for this kayak?

A: A lead acid group 27 battery works great but is larger and heavier compared to a comparable lithium-ion battery. We carry Dakota lithium batteries in various sizes, with a 50 amp hour battery being perfectly suitable for a full day on the water.

How long does the battery last to power the motor? And how long does it take to recharge the battery? Thanks!

I have been out for over four hours of continuous trolling at about 75% power. I bought a gel lead acid battery that takes a long time to recharge. I’m not sure how long because I just leave it charging all night for the next day. If you spend the big money on a lithium ion battery it will charge in 1/4 the time, maintain its power instead of going slower and slower as the battery runs down and is expected to last four times as long. I’m considering buying one. Oh and they weigh about 75% less. A 100 AH lead acid battery is heavy, about forty pounds so I have to charge it in the boat.
