A: I used 1 1/2 inch clamp on oar locks.

A: They don't collapse. They come apart into two sections of half its size.

A: They should work. Fit in a bag. I only use them if the motor doesn't run. If you are rowing a lot, the length is fine, but if you want a more solid wood oar, go for it. You get what you pay for. Great for light duty.
