A: Jessica: Thanks for checking with Thule. If you do not have a FI Rack from Ford, you can use the Thule 480 Traverse Foot Pack, Thule Fit Kit 1518 which is specific to the 2014 Ford Flex, and LB 58 load bars. That would create a platform to put the 819 Portage onto.

Q: Will this fit a 2013 Nissan Xterra factory rack?

A: The dimensions of the Thule factory bar are much smaller than the Xterra, but I think you'll be OK. The clips are actually too big for the factory unit.

Q: We have a Ford Escape SUV, and we want to carry a 16-foot canoe that is 65 lbs. Will this carrier work for that?

A: Yes, it should. Our canoe is over 90 lbs and it's a four-person canoe, so it's plenty long. It will just hang past the front and back of the car. Just make sure the width of your boat isn't wider than your racks.
