Ergonomic Design

Our gel-filled seat cushion is thoughtfully designed to enhance your performance on the water. It is thin enough to maintain your center of gravity, ensuring optimum stability and control. Say goodbye to bulky cushions that interfere with your movements - with YakPads, you can navigate the water seamlessly.

Easy Installation

Attaching the backrest is a breeze, thanks to our quick snap buckles. You can effortlessly secure the backrest to your kayak, allowing you to sit back and relax in no time. Choose the high backrest for recreational kayaks or the low backrest for touring kayaks, depending on your preference and needs.

Exact dimensions?

For the High-Back Gel Paddle Saddle, the backrest is exactly the same size, shape and composition as the seat bottom. Each half of the "clamshell" is 12 inches high, 16 inches wide at the shoulder, 9 inches wide at the waist (where they are joined together). The backrest and seat bottom are joined by a strip of rugged mesh that is 9 inches by 2 inches, making the whole thing 26 inches long from top to very bottom (12" backrest +2"mesh +12"seat bottom). The backrest does have two straps (1-inch wide) with buckles to wrap around your existing backrest. The seat bottom has four 1-inch string loops that can be looped onto four pegs (included). The pegs can be inserted into your existing seat by drilling 1/4-inch holes. The sitting surface is smooth spandex, but the rear surface touching the boat has textured rubbery-grip to keep it from slipping around, so depending on your situation it might not need to be fastened down. It's 3/4-inch thick and floppy enough to fit whatever shape seat you currently have.

I have a sit in kayak. A 10' excursion from walmart. It's just like the sundolphin. I guess what my question is, is will it fit in a sit in kayak.

I bought this for a sit-in kayak. Fiberglass hull type that you put a spray skirt on. Fits no problem.

Does it come with the seat shown?

No. The gel seat is an hourglass-shaped gel pad that protects your back and bottom. The molded plastic seat shown in the picture is NOT included. The gel pad is pretty high quality.

How does it attach to the existing seat? I see some loops on the bottom but not sure if they would line up with the seat I have now and does it stay?

Mine has a back with a pocket and quick-release buckles. So, the gel seat back is in front of your kayak's original seat and the back with the buckles drapes down the rear of the kayak's original seat, then you clip the buckles to hold it in place. It has worked well and is an easy on/off.
