Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q: How much does it weigh? Do users stow it in the kayak while on the water?
A: The trolley weighs approximately 10 pounds. Users can choose to stow it in the kayak if their kayak is spacious enough. However, it is important to note that the trolley is somewhat bulky.

Q: How do I keep the cart from rolling while loading my kayak?
A: If you are on a hill, I suggest aligning the cart and kayak perpendicular to the hill to prevent it from rolling down. Placing one end of the kayak on the ground when strapped to the cart provides a natural friction brake. For optimal towing, position the cart in a 60/40 ratio under the kayak, with 60% of the length on one side and 40% on the other. This arrangement keeps the long end on the ground and makes towing the kayak easier. If you are loading the kayak before towing and it has bow and stern compartments, you need to balance the load for stability.

Q: Can you use it for a paddleboard?
A: There is no reason why it cannot be used for a paddleboard. In fact, it is capable of double stacking two kayaks, 12' and 10.5' in length, at the same time.

Q: How wide is the top part where the bottom of the kayak sits on?
A: The top part where the bottom of the kayak sits on measures approximately 14 1/4 inches from front to back and 16 1/4 inches from left to right. Please note that these measurements are approximate and refer to the part that comes into contact with the kayak.

Frequently Asked Questions

how much does it weigh? Do users stow it in the kayak while on the water?

It weighs about 10 pound and they could if their Kayak is big enough. The trolley is kinda bulky.

How do I keep the cart from rolling while loading my kayak?

If you are on a hill I suggest aligning the cart and kayak perpendicular to the hill such that it cannot roll down the hill. One end of the kayak should be on the ground when it is strapped to the cart, providing a natural friction brake. I position the cart such that it is at the 60/40 point under the kayak - 60% of the length on one side of the cart and 40% on the other side. This keeps the long end on the ground and makes the kayak easier to tow in my opinion. If you are loading the kayak prior to towing and you have bow and stern compartments you will need to balance the load for stability.

Can you use for paddleboard?

I do not see why it would not be able. I have double stacked two Kayaks 12' and 10.5' at one time

How wide is the top part where the bottom of the kayak sits on?

14 1/4 from front to back, 16 1/4 from left to right. This is approximate and the part that touches the kayak.
