The Oru Beach LT is stable with superior tracking in the water. It's intended for use in smooth calm water, like lakes, rivers, and streams.
I’m not sure about a weight limit, but with me, my dog, etc. it comes to almost 300 pounds. It could handle more though because the sides of the kayak are still about 3-4 inches out of the water.
The question is pretty open and depends on what you want to do. High end IKs are pretty durable and models like the Sea Eagle Razor Lite are fast. Usually an IK will hold higher weights. If you are looking to go off shore though, most IKs are more of a hybrid SOT, where with Oru you can get more of a feel of a traditional kayak. There are also Pakayaks and other nesting or folding kayaks out there too.
